new experiences

things are still going great with me... this is just a quick little update as to what went down last night.

so i ask mama beth if she needs any help making dinner (that in itself was a challenge b/c she doesnt speak any english) but once she realizes what i'm asking her she says, oh yes yes. and kinda passes me this big bowl.

i take the bowl and look inside... inside are two complete chickens... feathers and all except for their heads were cut off and she looks at me and kinda shows me w/ her hands that she wants me to pluck the feathers off.

i ran and grabbed alicia and told her what mama wanted me to do.. we braced ourselves and then got right to work. it was definitely a different experience... once we finished getting all of the feathers off we helped her take the entire chicken a part.

i will never look at a chicken the same again.. hahah

Hey, it's good to hear from you and learn about what you're doing. What a great chicken story. How did it taste? Things are going good here and we miss you lots. Madison is still learning more signs. Her latest is keys. Dave's looking forward to seeing the pictures of the building. I'm impressed that you're helping out with that. Well, we're looking forward to another update. Love ya and we're praying for you.
Love, Nicole & Dave

thanks for the comment... it tasted pretty good. i think that is just want they always do here. we tried to explain to the family that we get the feathers already taken off of the chicken when we buy it and they were so confused. the kids asked "well then who takes the feathers off?" it was cute.

aw, madison can sign keys? thats so cute. is she saying any more words? give her a big squeeze from me. and remember, i want her to be able to say aunt jen when i get back.. haha, just kidding. xoxo

I'm so glad to hear that you are having fun and enjoying your time so far. I am also happy to hear that your flights and travels have been safe!

I'm sure you'll have tons more stories to share with everyone, and i'm looking forward to hearing them thats for sure!

ALSO. i'm glad to hear that you are using a journal, to remember things. becuase, if you're anything like me, the short term memory loss gets you every time.

Keeping you in my prayers!
